back when i was a sophomore in college, i did a project on “famous photographs.” this was probably one of my favorite projects i ever did because it was right up my alley. i got to surf the web for the most iconic images of our time and get a grade for it. AWESOME! obviously, there are way more than 13 photographs. these are just some of my personal favorites. i feel like they tell a story. here they are. i hope you enjoy! feel free to share some of your favorite photographs throughout time. :)
this well-known photograph was taken of a 12-year old girl after becoming a refugee. to see the current photo of the girl, click here. personally, this is one of my all-time favorite images. the rawness of this photograph captivates me. her eyes seem to know things far beyond her years. beautiful!

this image can relate to all of us. i remember exactly where i was when this moment in history happened. it will forever haunt my memories. i am still so thankful for every hero who fought to protect us that day and for every hero that still fights to save us.
this image is of a mother of 7 after she sold her tent to buy food for her children. for many people, this photograph is the epitome of the great depression.
this is a photo of a student who tried to stop the tanks in tiananmen square.

marilyn monroe (the seven year itch)
the vj day kiss
fun fact: this sailor was going around kissing every girl he saw. a photographer just happened to capture him kissing this particular nurse. after the quick smooch, the nurse slapped him. :) this photograph is also another one of my personal favorites. the back story completely throws off the romance and adds character!
**i do not own any of these images and received all information from the internet**
